About

MEDED is a community-led organization founded in response to the social and emotional needs that emerged after war. The organization works with women, children, and youth to rebuild connection, provide psychosocial support, and strengthen community solidarity.

By creating spaces for care, creativity, and contribution, MEDED helps individuals move beyond isolation and rediscover a sense of belonging, purpose, and shared responsibility within their community.

Why beauty matters here

Beauty supports healing. Cared-for spaces create calm, connection, and creativity, while neglected environments increase stress and isolation. In this community, beauty helps restore emotional balance and rebuild a sense of peace.

“Giving is not only support for others. it is a human need. When people contribute, they regain self-worth, connection, and a lasting sense of meaning.”

What this partnership will explore

  • How cared-for spaces support psychosocial healing and emotional well-being

  • How community participation strengthens belonging and social cohesion

  • How beauty influences behavior, connection, and daily experience

  • How storytelling and visual comparison can shift perceptions of space

Beauty, joy, and care spread. When one space changes, it influences how people feel, how they connect, and what they believe is possible for their lives.”
