Every place deserves to feel like home.

We partner with refugee communities to transform camps, settlements, and shelters into places of beauty, dignity, and belonging—through art, design, and creative placemaking.

Our belief

What makes a place feel like home?

Safety matters. Structure matters. But home is also about recognition, agency, and care.

We work alongside refugee communities to shape spaces that reflect who they are and how they live.

Displacement is long-term. Dignity should be too.

We don’t design for communities.

We design with them.

How we work

  • We collaborate with refugee-led and community-rooted organizations.

  • We apply thoughtful, practical design to real-world constraints.

  • Our work is hands-on, adaptable, and grounded in respect.

Who this work is for

Everyplace partners with refugee-led and community-rooted organizations who care deeply about the places people call home.

We work best with communities who want to shape their own spaces, and with partners who believe dignity, beauty, and care are not extras but essentials.

We work alongside refugee communities, offering design support, resources, and care so ideas led by residents can take shape.

What this looks like

We start with what’s already there

Community members document the beauty, culture, and care that already exist. We listen and learn, beginning from strength rather than lack.

We imagine together

Neighbors dream about what home could feel like in this place. Everyplace supports the process, helping turn ideas into shared visions.

We design and build with care

With creative and technical support from Everyplace, communities transform everyday spaces into places of dignity, belonging, and pride.

Why design matters

Design is not about making things look nicer.

It is about how people feel in a space, how they move through it, and whether it reflects who they are.

When communities shape their own environments, spaces become safer, more welcoming, and more deeply lived in. Design becomes a way to support agency, care, and belonging.

That is the work we are here to support.
