Where is beauty here?
In its first activity since the fall of the regime, Tadweer-Tech spent two months in conversation with 35 residents of Beit Sawa, a farming village near Damascus, among them the mayor, teachers, students, and the head of the farmers' union.
They adapted the questions into local, poetic forms like "If our village were a painting, what beautiful details would we see in it?"
The answers were about solidarity and return. A community that came home, rebuilt its farms and repaired its school with its own money, and learned under siege to waste nothing, a recycling ethic they now want to build with.

What they’re building
A village that rebuilt itself by wasting nothing wants its gathering place made the same way.
Tadweer-Tech and the community are shaping plans to turn an abandoned green area into a shared outdoor space, a green field with artwork and benches crafted from the village's own recycled materials.

Tadweer-Tech is an innovation-driven initiative founded by Syrian researcher Aziz Aldureid to address the environmental impact of conflict and displacement. Combining scientific research with community engagement,
Tadweer transforms waste into useful materials and shared spaces. The organization explores how environmental restoration, design, and creativity can support recovery, helping communities reclaim neglected spaces and reimagine them as places of possibility, connection, and renewal.
